OUR STORY: THE JOURNEY OF THE GOLDEN FIBER

The Silence of the Plateau

Our story begins in the rhythmic silence of the Alashan Plateau, a high-altitude wilderness in the furthest reaches of Inner Mongolia. Here, the air is thin, and the landscape is defined by its resilience.

For centuries, the Arbus White Goat has called this plateau home. To survive winters where the wind settles at a steady -15°C, these animals don’t just grow wool—they grow a masterpiece of thermal engineering. Beneath their coarse outer hair lies a hidden layer of down, a microscopic shield of warmth so soft it feels like a second skin.

The Nomadic Calendar

We do not follow industrial cycles; we follow the seasons. As the plateau warms to 30°C in the spring, the goats naturally begin to shed this protective layer. This is the moment our story truly begins.

Our herding partners, nomadic families who have lived on these lands for generations, begin the "Hand-Comb." Unlike mass-market methods that use harsh electric shears, our herders use wide-toothed combs to gently lift the loose down away. It is a slow, quiet process that respects the animal and keeps the fiber at its full, magnificent length. A single goat yields only a small handful of this "Golden Fiber" each year. It is a gift of nature, harvested with patience and deep respect for the land.

The Master Weavers of Inner Mongolia

From the plateau, the raw fiber travels to our facility in Inner Mongolia. This is where ancient tradition meets modern precision. The fiber is "scoured" in Alpine-pure water to preserve its natural luster, then dehaired until only the finest 15.5-micron down remains.

Our master weavers then take over. Using Italian spinning technology and traditional Mongolian finishing techniques, they transform the raw cloud of fiber into a high-twist yarn. The final touch is the Teasel Brush—using the dried heads of natural flowers to gently "scratch" the surface of the woven fabric. This creates the iconic Zibeline ripple, a visual signature of authentic, undiluted cashmere that catch the light with every movement.

A Legacy of Resilience

When you wrap yourself in Inner Mongolia cashmere, you are wearing the result of a year-long cycle of nature, the skill of nomadic herders, and the pride of Mongolian craftsmanship. We are committed to the Green Grassland Initiative, working directly with cooperatives to manage grazing patterns and prevent the desertification of the Alashan Plateau. By supporting these herders, we preserve a way of life that has existed for centuries, ensuring that the story of the Arbus White Goat continues for generations to come.
